Skip Lane has joined FOCUS as a Senior Advisor in its Atlanta, Georgia office.   Mr. Lane is a successful serial entrepreneur who currently serves as Managing Partner for Revenue Velocity, a business development and strategic M&A consulting firm.  As a consultant, Mr. Lane has worked on numerous growth initiatives and turnaround projects for communications and software companies, and has spearheaded business unit start ups as well as new product roll outs.

Prior to Revenue Velocity, Mr. Lane served as Senior VP of Sales & Business Development for Intelliverse, an Atlanta based managed services provider.  Mr. Lane also served as CEO of Razor IP, a communications service provider serving small and medium sized businesses through multiple distribution channels, and Direct Line Communications, a fully outsourced competitive local exchange carrier providing local telephone, broadband internet and long distance services.  Mr. Lane managed the successful sale of Direct Line in 2006 and Razor IP in 2007.

Earlier, Lane founded and served as President and CEO of Network One, a facilities-based competitive local exchange carrier based in Atlanta, Georgia.  Under Lane’s leadership, Network One grew to nearly $40M in annual revenues with over 185 employees.  During a four year period, Lane managed the acquisition and integration of four telecom firms while raising $18MM to support these initiatives.  Network One achieved national recognition by receiving the INC 500 award as “One of the 500 Fastest Growing Private Firms” in 1998, 1999 and 2000.  Mr. Lane sold the company in 2001 to a large Midwest-based interexchange carrier with a disclosed enterprise value in excess of $40M.

Mr. Lane is a highly sought-after speaker on numerous topics associated with small and medium sized businesses and IP Communications service providers’ best practices, and has spoken at industry trade shows such as Comptel, Channel Partners Show, and IP Business Magazine’s Business Forum.
