Based in Connecticut, Brad E. Balow, a FOCUS Managing Director, has over twenty years experience in Merger and Acquisition and Capital Raising advisory, representing both large and small companies. He has both domestic and international experience in all phases of the M&A and capital raising process. His work has included business plan development, transaction marketing, transaction financing and corporate valuation and fairness opinions.

Prior to joining FOCUS, Mr. Balow was Founder and President of Balow & Company, LLC, a boutique investment bank providing M&A and capital raising advisory services to early stage and middle market companies in the Northeast. During this time, he also acted as Chief Financial Officer for LON, Inc., a startup company in the internet infrastructure space that developed software for digital content management. He also advised the National Football League on transactions involving the Houston, Atlanta and Washington D.C. franchises.

From 2000 until 2001, Mr. Balow was Chief Executive Officer of DataFort, Inc. which developed fuel cell technology-based backup power solutions for the internet data center industry. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of corporate startup, including business plan development, fundraising and staffing.

From 1998 until 1999, Mr. Balow was a Managing Director in the M&A group at the Salomon Smith Barney unit of Citigroup in New York. In this role, Mr. Balow developed a specialty M&A unit in the building materials industry and originated transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $1 billion. His clients included Cemex, S.A. (Mexico), Titan Cement (Greece), and Wienerberger (Austria)

Mr. Balow was at Citicorp from 1984 until 1998. While there he focused on international M&A in the Airline, Automotive, Building Products, Chemicals, Healthcare, Media, Metals/Mining, Retail and Shipping industries. His clients were located in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South and Central America. During this time, he executed nearly 40 M&A assignments with clients including Philips Electronics, the National Football League, Provigo (Canada), British West Indies Airways (Trinidad), and KaiserTech.

Mr. Balow has a B.S. with honors in Industrial Engineering and an M.B.A. with high honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
