Marshall founded FOCUS Investment Banking in 1982. The firm completes merger, acquisition, divestiture and corporate finance engagements for national and international mid and sub mid market companies and investors. FOCUS has offices in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago. The firm employs 38 full time investment banking professionals and a research staff of 6 analysts. FOCUS, through its affiliate, William H. Murphy Company, is a FINRA registered broker dealer.
Marshall began his career with IBM and Xerox Corporations where he held numerous management positions during late 1960s. During the early 1970s, Marshall co-founded two venture backed companies with successful exits. Of note, was the second company that Marshall co-founded in 1978 which was Source Telecommuting Corporation, the forerunner to AOL. “The Source” was sold to the Readers Digest Association in 1980. Marshall graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1965 with a BA in Economics.
